Memories of St. Elmo

$15.00

Charlotte Vickerson Merrifield, daughter of an early-day miner and a hard-working, ever-cheerful mother, tells of growing up in St. Elmo, Colorado, during the second mining boom from 1910-1919.

This book is an exciting series of reminiscences of Charlotte’s childhood in St. Elmo. She tells the way it was in the town, and in the mines, and of the characters who she knew. She attended school in St. Elmo from the first through the eighth grade and tells of her school mates and the life that they lived. Most of the photographs in the book come from Charlotte’s collection and from that of her sister, Mae Thorndale Byers.
