Upcoming Events

Friday Concerts At The Farm -September 10, 2021
Featuring SYLVESTER at Turner Farm, 6:00-8:00.

There's nothing like a family band for that close, blended sound ~ Laura Stephens grew up in Kansas singing with her sisters.  She plays guitar and loves classic country music (especially female singers such as Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris).  She also writes some of her own songs and in her spare time is a nature-loving landscaper ~ she also is recreating that close harmony tradition with her sister in spirit, Sarah Hamilton.  Sarah Hamilton grew up in Colorado and started at a very young age playing the violin.  She eventually became interested in folk styles and turned to fiddling tunes in Irish, bluegrass and country genres.  She's also a songwriter, handy with a chainsaw and a fine documentary filmmaker.  Originally from the Ozarks of Arkansas, Bruce Warren took up the guitar over 40 years ago.  He is a past National Champion on the hammered dulcimer and since the pandemic, has ventured deeply back into songwriting and birdwatching.  As the band Sylvester, they play a slow-simmer stew of bluegrass, country and originals.

The address is 829 West Main Street in Buena Vista and everyone is invited! Admission for this fundraiser will be BY DONATION at the entrance. Please practice social distancing. Bring your own picnic/snack, lawn chair, and/or blanket and ENJOY!

Cancelled! Will reschedule for later this Fall.

The popular “Madams of Central Colorado” will return to the Buena Vista Heritage Museum in 2021. Advanced reservations are recommended since this show tends to sell out.

From Cockeyed Liz, whose former Palace of Joy is less than a block from the museum, to archrival Belle Brown, Salida’s Laura Evans, and Lillian Powers of Florence, the madams, and their girls discuss how they got into “the business” and other aspects of life as a fallen woman at the turn of the last century. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door but there is limited space.
