July 15 - Concert at the Farm:  Featuring Tracey Egolf at Turner Farm, 6:00-8:00.

Tracey Egolf is a Colorado-based singer, songwriter and guitarist known for covering an eclectic array of artists such as Patty Griffin, Neil Young, Towns Van Zandt and Emmy Lou Harris. She sprinkles in originals like “Six Strings Attached, the name of her solo project, “Another Night Bird Song,” “Running Water”, and the restless “Wayfinding”.

Introduced to guitar as a reluctant 3rd grader, she soon discovered a passion for singing and sounding out John Denver songs by ear. Growing up immersed in post-‘60’s era music, the influences from folk, pop, blue grass and country music were strong. Her years living deep in the Appalachia, as a real-life coal miner’s daughter, left an indelible mark. As a teen she began dabbling with song writing, and learned blue grass finger-picking styles from a family friend. At the age of 13 her parents gave her the ’76 Martin D-18 that she cherishes and still plays today.

As a child, Tracey’s family moved frequently following her father’s career in the coal
industry. They moved through backwater mining towns throughout Pennsylvania and West Virginia, then finally out West to Utah and Colorado. Colorado was the only place she had lived for more than two consecutive years, and it quickly became her spiritual and long-term home. She has set down roots on a small ranch near the mountain town of Fairplay, Colorado, with her family and an odd assortment of animals. She frequently plays guitar and sings with the Sweet Alma Soul Sisters (SASS), and sings harmonies with Split Window (www.splitwindowband.com), based in Alma, Colorado. Music is a central part of her life, and Tracey thrives on the storytellers tradition of sharing music with people willing to pause in their travels long enough to listen to her unique voice and distinctive delivery.
